The Folsom Women's Facility and Folsom State Prison raised more than $14,400 for the The American Cancer Society through the Relay for Life - more than double from last year. Inmates, families and friends donated money.
The event was hosted by both medical and custody staff. The medical department used this opportunity to educate the inmate/patient population about the signs and symptoms of cancer and the importance of cancer screening.
